FUT Scar Camouflage | Follicular Unit Transplant
FUT Scars have been around for decades and are easily spotted because of their large smiley-face shape on the back of the head. Also known as strip scars, FUT scars are a result of a strip of skin typically removed from the back lower portion of the head in order to procure hair follicles to replant in the front of the head. The scar that remains can be raised (keloid), indented (where it looks like a small ditch resulting in a shadow on the upper-inner ledge of the scar), or, in the best case scenario for SMP, remain flat. It should be noted that keloidal scars can be flattened over time by micro-needling to break up scar tissue. This is a service I provide in preparation for FUT Scar Camoflauge.
Disclaimer: Because scar tissue is not the same as normal skin, no matter how much pigment is placed on the scar, in some lighting, you will always be able to see the scar. As a result, I can only guarantee a 50% camouflage. My goal is to match the coloration of the surrounding hair follicles thereby bringing a more even blend from scar to skin.
